New charges lodged against RCC student
A Rockland Community College student facing drug charges was arrested again Tuesday by Haverstraw town police and accused of committing two Pomona burglaries.
Howard C. Geller, 17, of Laura Lane, Pomona, was arrested. He was charged with burglarizing two homes, one on March 1 and the other the following day in the Redwood section of Pomona, said Det. Hector Soto.
It was charged that Geller stole jewelry and cash totaling more than $2,000. None of the proceeds have been recovered, Soto said.
Geller was released on the burglary charges after posting $750 bail at Haverstraw Town Justice Court. He faces a hearing on May 13.
At the time police said Geller committed the burglaries, he was free after being arrested on April 10 as one of four Rockland Community College students charged with selling drugs on the campus. The conditions of bail were unavailable.
He was accused of selling a small quantity of marijuana to an undercover police officer on Feb. 26 at the college’s Academic II building. He was also charged with possessing stolen property, a scientific scale valued at $2.000 stolen from the college on Feb. 24.
