Cheryl Broide Is Engaged To Leonard Light

Mr. and Mrs. Mace Broide of Evansville, Ind., and Washington, D.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Cheryl Ruth, to Leonard Light, son of Mrs. Edith Light of 9 Homer St. and the late Harry A. Light.

The young couple are students at the University of Rhode Island, where she is a journalism major, and he is a mathematics major.

Miss Broide won first prize in the national Quill and Scroll contest for literature writing, and she is an accomplished musician. A September wedding is planned.

Miss Broide's father is an administrative assistant to Sen. Vance Marike (D-Ind.).

Engagement Announced

The announcement is being made today by Mr. and Mrs. Mace Broide of Washington, D.C., and Evansville of the engagement of their daughter, Miss Cheryl Ruth Broide, to Leonard Light, son of Mrs. Edith Light of Newport, R.I.

The couple has set the wedding for September.

Miss Broide is a Woodrow Wilson High School, Washington graduate, where she was an award winner in art and journalism. She was the national first prize winner in the feature writing division of Quill and Scroll’s annual contest. She is a journalism major at the University of Rhode Island.

Her fiance, an accomplished musician, also attends the university, majoring in mathematics.
