Rosalie Engel, 48, the former owner of a delicatessen and a pet kennel in Tuscon, died Nov. 11, 1978, in a car accident in New Mexico.
Miss Engle, who came to Arizona in 1946 from Chicago, is survived by her mother, Rebecca Engel; a brother and two sisters.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Sinai Mortuary, 4538 N 16th St.

Rosalie Engel dies of injuriesTucson businesswoman Rosalie Engel, 48, died Sunday from injuries she received in an automobile accident near Moriarty, N.M., on Saturday.
Engel, a native of Chicago, went to Phoenix in 1946 and in 1955 started the delicatessen chain “Your Chef Take Home Food.” In 1958, she moved to Tucson and brought her business with her, opening three stores and establishing a catering service.
More recently, Engel founded and operated the "Singing Sword" kennel, which cares exclusively for Irish wolf-hounds. About five years ago, she developed a diet for the dogs that was accepted by owners from all over the country.
As an artist, Engel had painted and sold oils of the dogs, but she gained more recognition for her desert landscape paintings.
A recent graduate of the University of Arizona, Engel was a member of the Omicron Nu collegiate home economics honor society.
Engel had also worked with the Jewish Community Center since she came to Tucson.
She is survived by her mother, Rebecca Engel of Phoenix; a brother, Sheldon A. Engel of Tucson; and sisters Annette Engel of Phoenix and Glorianne Engel of Des Moines, Iowa.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Phoenix at Sinai Mortuary Chapel, 4538 N. 16th St., with burial at the Beth Israel Memorial Cemetery, 3401 W. Jackson St.
The family asks that remembrances be sent to The City of Hope Hospital in Duarte, Calif.
