BROUNSTEIN, Toba. We mourn the passing of Toba Friendly Brounstein on Wednesday, September 1. 2004, after a brief illness. Daughter of the late Jack and the late Ann Friendly. She was born and raised in Shawinigan Falls, Quebec, and moved to Saskatchewan after marriage, living first in Kamsack and then Regina. Loving wife of Maurice. A devoted mother and mother-in-law to Allan and Shelley, Gerald and Naomi. Adoring grandmother to nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Dear sister and sister-in-law to the late Harold Friendly and Lil Friendly, Rita and Nathan Kaufman, Sylvia Schneiderman, and the late Clarence Schneiderman, the late Evelyn and Moe Gorelick, the late Cyril and Myrna Brounstein. She was loved by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a dedicated community worker in many organizations, including the Hospital Auxiliary and the Eastern Star in Kamsack, the Beth Jacob Synagogue, and Hadassah WIZO in Regina. She left us her good name and took with her good deeds. “Strength and majesty are her raiments; she joyfully awaits her last day. Proverbs 31.” May her memory be a blessing. Funeral services were held on Friday in Regina. Shiva is being observed in Regina and Montreal.
