SCHNEIDERMAN, Clarence, peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday. March 22, 1997. Beloved husband of Sylvia Friendly. Faithful and loving son of the late Alec (Elis) and Polly Schneiderman Z”L and son-in-law of the late Jack and Ann Friendly Z”L. Devoted father of David and Julie, Jonathan and Shelley. Adored grandfather of Marco and Maya, Zachary, Erica, and Dahlia. Dear brother and brother-in-law of I. Arthur and Zelda Schneiderman, and brother-in-law of Lily and the late Harold Friendly, Rita and Nathan Kaufman, Toby and Maurice Brounstein. Cherished uncle and great-uncle to his many wonderful nieces and nephews. Close friend and confidant to his many cousins. Dear friend of Farla Grover. Funeral services in the main sanctuary of Congregation Shaar Hashomayim, 120 Cote St. Antoine Road, Westmount, On Monday, March 24, at noon. MISS SYLVIA FRIENDLY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Friendly of Shawinigan Falls, Que., and MR. CLARENCE SCHNEIDERMAN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Schneiderman of Montreal, whose engagement is announced. Miss Friendly is a graduate of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing. Mr. Schneiderman graduated in Arts and Commerce from McGill University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Quebec.

Schneiderman-Friendly

The marriage of Miss Sylvia Friendly R.N., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Friendly of Shawinigan Falls, to Mr. Clarence Schneiderman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Schneiderman, of Montreal, took place recently in Shaar Hashomayim Synagogue, Rabbi Wilfrid Shuchat officiating, assisted by Cantor Nathan Mendelson and the Rev. J. J. Fromm. Mrs. M. N. Fineberg played the wedding music, and pink and white peonies and blue delphinium were used to decorate.

The bride, who was given away by her father, was in a gown of white organza, with a fitted bodice appliqued with Guipure lace and the crinoline skirt falling into a train. Her short veil of tulle illusion was held by a headdress of seed pearls, and she carried a bouquet of white orchids, stephanotis, and blue delphinium.

Mrs. Nathan Kaufman of Cleveland, Ohio, as matron of honor for her sister, was in a bouffant frock of ice-blue taffeta and lace. She wore a bandeau of pale pink Sweetheart roses and carried a cascade bouquet of delphinium.

Little Miss Marilyn Ruth Friendly and little Miss Naomi Friendly Kaufman, nieces of the bride, as flower girls, were in frocks of blue and pink organdy, respectively. They wore wreaths of Sweetheart roses and carried matching nosegays.

Mr. Arthur Schneiderman acted as best man for his brother, and the ushers were Mr. Harold Friendly, brother of the bride, of Shawinigan Falls; Dr. Nathan Kaufman. of Cleveland; Mr. Morris Brounstein, of Kamsack, Sask.; Dr. David Schwartzman. of New York and Dr. Clarence Schneiderman, Mr. Erwin Schneiderman, and Mr. Seymour Pressman.

Mrs. Friendly, the bride’s mother, wore a gown of grey French lace with an embroidered bodice and sleeves, a hat of pink feathers dotted with rhinestones, and a corsage bouquet of hybrid orchids.

Mrs. Schneiderman, the bridegroom’s mother, was in a gown of grey organza over pink poult de soie and wore a hat of grey shirred organza lined with pink and a corsage bouquet of hybrid orchids.

The reception was held In the Hall of the Synagogue. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Schneiderman left for New York to sail in the Ile de France for an extended trip to Europe, the bride traveling in a frock of grey cotton tweed under a matching coat lined In yellow and wearing black accessories and a corsage bouquet of orchids.
