501Mrs. Karpes RitesFuneral services will be held tomorrow afternoon for the late Mrs. Helen Karpes, with the Rev. Frederick Warnecke, pastor of St. Clements Episcopal church, conducting the services. The deceased died on Saturday after an illness of several weeks. She was born in Philadelphia and made her home in Hawthorne for the past fifteen years. Her passing has elicited widespread sympathy, for she had a large following of friends.
She is survived by her husband, Ellis B. Karpes; a daughter, Anita Karpes; her mother, Mrs. Anna Marie Traub of Philadelphia; a brother, Fred Traub of Hawthorne; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Krebes of Collingswood, N. J. and Mrs. James Leggett of Mellenville, N. Y.; and the following half brothers: Elme Weidner of Beach Haven, N. J., William Weidner of West Philadelphia, and Walter Weidner of North Philadelphia. Mrs. Karpes was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Alexander Hamilton Post VFW.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. Frederick J. Warnecke of St. Clement’s Episcopal church officiating. The interment will be at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Relatives, friends, and Ladies’ Auxiliary Alexander Hamilton Post No. 139 V. F. W. members are invited to attend the funeral. Tuesday, July 23, from her late residence, 55 Fifth Avenue, Hawthorne, N. J., 3 o’clock p.m. Interment at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
