RUBIN, Clifford Louis, M.D.
Born in Chicago May 1, 1932, died in Los Angeles on October 29, 2004, after a year-long battle with colon cancer. Beloved husband of Edythe for 49 years, loving father of Scott (Janice) Rubin, Brett (Joan) Rubin, Dana (Steve) Remer, M.D., and Tracy Rubin. Doting grandiather of Joshua, Michael, Zachary, and Alexa.
Cliff graduated from Grinnell College in 1954 and received his M.D. from Chicago Medical School in 1958. He did his internship and residency in Los Angeles and established his pediatric practice in Beverly Hills. He served the community in various positions, including being a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, president of the Los Angeles County Pediatric Medical Society, and an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at UCLA.
Cliff was an avid fisherman and spent a week with his son Brett each year at fishing camps in Alaska or Canada north of the Arctic Circle. His prize was a 58-pound lake trout caught on an eight-pound test line.
Cliff and Eadie were enthusiastic world travelers, with their favorite trips being to mainland China, the Galapagos, and Antarctica. They enjoyed their retirement years, cruising to Russia, the Caribbean, the Amazon River, and the Panama Canal.
