ZIMMERMAN — Janice Mittman, 84, owner of Zimmerman’s Furniture in Lindenhurst, NY, est. 1954, passed away on February 29, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. All who knew her loved and respected her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and businesswoman — survived by daughter Leah Zamir, son Marc Zimmerman, M.D., daughter-in-law Leesa Zimmerman, son Jeffrey Zimmerman, and grandchildren Aviv, Dorit, Brett, Blake, Brielle, Baylie Rose, Justin, Samantha, and Matthew, brother Stanley and sister Audrey. Zimmerman’s Furniture will continue under the leadership of 3rd generation owner Jeff Zimmerman. The funeral is scheduled for Friday, March 2, 2012, at 10 am, at the Boulevard-Riverside Chapels. The Chapel is located at 1450 Broadway, Hewlett, NY 11557. The family wishes donations be made to Hadassah or the American Cancer Society.
