Dr. and Mrs. Benjamin B. Karpes, 384 E. 42nd St., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Simone, to Peter Horenstein, son of
Maestro Jascha Horenstein and Mme. Rose Landver, of New York City. Maestro Horenstein is conductor of the Vienna Pro Musica Symphony in
Vienna. Mme. Landver is with the Metropolitan Opera Co., New York City.
Miss Karpes attended Paterson schools and Universite Laval, Quebec, Canada. She is a student at New York University, where she is a French major and president of the French Club. She will graduate in January.
Mr. Horenstein graduated from Edgewood School, Greenwich, Conn. He received his bachelor of arts degree from New York University. He is a New York University Law School student serving with the U.S. Army Signal Corps in Germany.
A Winter wedding is planned.
