Hintz-Mittman

White snapdragons and palms formed the setting Sunday for the wedding of Miss Marjorie O. Mittman, granddaughter of Mrs. Charles M. Dickau of Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury, to Mr. Edward F. Hintz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Hintz of Glastonbury. The 3:30 p.m. ceremony occurred at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Glastonbury, with Rev. Karl Blake officiating. Mr. Kendall Hayward played the wedding music, and Miss Katherine Hamilton was the soloist.

The bride was presented in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Arthur H. Dickau of Glastonbury. A tiara of orange blossoms held her fingertip veil of imported illusion in place, and she wore a gown of pearl white satin fashioned with a square neckline, long sleeves, fitted bodice, and circular skirt that extended into a full sweeping train. Her arm bouquet consisted of white roses and streamers of sweet peas.

Mrs. Troy Rowland of Glastonbury attended her niece as matron of honor. Her pink frosted marquisette gown, with a fitted bodice and full skirt, was worn with matching mitts. To match her bouquet, she wore a tiara of spring flowers.

Mr. Carl Seivert of Wallingford was the best man for Mr. Hintz, and ushers were Mr. Henry Hintz, brother of the bridegroom, and Mr. Edward Dickau, Jr., cousin of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Grange Hall in Glastonbury. The bride’s grandmother was in a navy blue dress and hat with a corsage of spring flowers. The bridegroom’s mother chose a powder blue dress with black and white accessories. She also had a corsage of spring flowers.

When the couple left on a motor trip through the New England States and Canada, the bride wore a red gabardine suit with navy blue accessories and a navy topper.

Mrs. Hintz graduated from Glastonbury High School, and her husband, a contractor, graduated from Lyman Hall High School, Wallingford.
