529Ben Izenberg, Custom Tailor
Funeral services for Ben Izenberg, 67, a custom tailor who died Wednesday in Barnert Hospital, will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Richardson Chapel at Market and East Twenty-third Sts. Rabbi Ahron Opher of the Barnert Memorial Temple will officiate. Interment will follow in Barnert Lodge Cemetery, West Paterson.
Mr. Izemberg has owned a custom tailoring business in this city for many years and, more recently, was head of the fitting department at Larkey’s Store, Passaic. He suffered a short Illness. Mr. Izenberg was a resident of Paterson until a short time ago when he moved to 170 Broadway, Passaic.
Born in Europe, Mr. Izenberg was brought to Paterson as an infant by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Izenberg, who resided in the Dublin section for years. At an early age, he joined his father in the tailoring business and later opened his own establishment at 157 Main St. Subsequently, he moved to Hamilton St.
During his many years in business, Mr. Izenberg earned a reputation for fine handwork, and his customers included some of the most prominent men in Paterson.
Surviving are his widow, the former Ida Weinstein; two sons James, of Metuchen, a dyestuffs manufacturer, and Ivan, a radio engineer with Station WNJR; two daughters, Mrs. Milton (Anita) Rosenthal, of Fair Lawn and Mrs. Jerome (Audrey) Shenker, of Pittstown; four brothers, David, Samuel, and Charles Izenberg, all of Paterson, and Harry Izenberg, of Newark, and a sister,
Mrs. David Goldstein, of Perth Amboy, as well as eight grandchildren.
